Father Joseph de Viveiros CR, Pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, celebrated his 25th Anniversary to the Priesthood on Saturday, May 6, 2017. The priesthood is not really so much a gift as it is a commission to serve, a privilege to lift, and an opportunity to bless the lives of others. Celebrating his Silver Jubilee as a member of the Congregation of the Resurrection, Father Joseph comes from North Bay. While residing and going to school in that northern community, Father Joseph personally came to know the support of the Knights of Columbus in North Bay. His affection for the Knights is manifested in his unfailing support for Council 1504. At the 5:00 PM Mass, and on behalf of the Kitchener Knights of Columbus, Brother Gary Megaffin offered congratulations to Fr. Joseph on his 25th Anniversary, with the presentation of a Special Prayer Enrolment offered by the Discalced Carmelite Nuns of St. Agatha, Ontario. Following Mass, Brothers Fernando Melo, Manfred Aulich, Gary Megaffin, Mike Szabo and his wife Ana assisted at an informal reception in the hall following Mass.
