A bright sunny day greeted the Kitchener Knights of Columbus 2022 Big Spring Clean-up. After a two-year hiatus, the 5th annual event was held on Saturday May 7th at the St. Anthony Daniel parking lot at Ottawa and Franklin. The lineup began at 9:00 am and was steady till 1:00 pm. Contributors left a great deal of unwanted electronic waste and scrap metal to be recycled, a good turnout which also collected $50 in cash donations and some gently-used clothing. The Kitchener and area Girl Guides were busy selling their renowned cookies. The Spring Cleanup containers were from Dundee Recycling and New Dundee E-Waste Recycling. While one bin was accepting a lot of scrap metal, there was enough e-waste to fill another 20 ft container of e-waste. Hats off to Richard Lee and his hard-working, dedicated crew consisting of Brother Knights their family members and friends. There were plenty of volunteers to help and a special thanks to the children of Andrew Kearsey, Katherine, Andrew and Michael and to Steve Constant’s grandson Jacob for helping out.
