It was a windy, wet day, but that didn’t deter the action at the Shred All truck. The Food Bank of Waterloo Region was a big winner as a result of cash and food donations made at the Knights of Columbus Big Spring Clean-up. Over several hours during the event, supporters contributed 336 pounds of food and $1,263.80 in cash donations.
According to Angela McCall, Food Bank Donor Relations Coordinator, the combined food and cash will go to give 4054 meals to those in need. Angela remarked that, notwithstanding the inclement weather, this year’s K of C campaign has surpassed previous results. Another successful campaign is anticipated next year.
The Food Bank of Waterloo Region is the recipient of cash donations made at the Shred All truck during the K of C Big Spring Clean-up. Council 1504 Grand Knight Dave Obermeyer is presenting a cheque in the amount of $1,263.80 to Bailey Armitage, Community Event Manager, and Kaitlyn Davis, Engagement Coordinator.
